What topic would you choose?

Having power to influence minds of young children is a very important ability. Had I had the chance to conduct any type of study I would conduct a longitudinal study on Race relations and perceptions that are created in homes for children ages 5-10 in Asian homes and African American Homes- Latino Homes and White Homes to get a true

Insight in terms of how is race relation’s taught at and early age. What are the positive and the negative components in relation to how race perception is taught?

What can you imagine the positive contribution(s) would be?

I would imagine the positive contributions would to racial perceptions and understand. Having the ability to have an honest perspective offered to see what truly occurs or unfolds in a home along the line of race is key. When people have the understanding along these line from an early age to what is unfolding or occurring in the home the home we can begin and  to help create a dialogue – programs and interventions to help improve race relations within our education communities to spread to the greater good..

I am a product of a working mother. I have friends who parents stayed home. Is there a correlation that mothers who stay home  hold a better impact on their youth?

I look forward to researching the valid information which is out there. It will require me to explore some different directions in referencing how to see if moms who's tay home versers mothers who work are the children more successful in academics and career exploration.

Any advice for anyone prior to me starting the research or personal stories? Look forward to hearing back

Week 6

Websites Follows

Education has a wide variety of issues and or topics the issue below

Are a few to ponder for early childhood educators

What’s all the fuss about gender differences?

Do sex differences matter? How large are the differences between girls and boys? To what extent are those differences hardwired

How Boys are Disadvantaged

There is a long-standing debate as to whether public school classrooms are better suited for boys or for girls. In fact, our Education.com contributors find that BOTH girls AND boys are disadvantaged when teachers don’t understand gender differences.  Here is the evidence demonstrating how boys are disadvantaged

Bullying
Preschool and kindergarten have long been considered a home away from home for young kids—from learning the alphabet to sharing blocks, the last thing you’d expect to find among such a young group is bullying. However, young children may participate in bulling—as victims or perpetrators—even more often than older kids. Between the ages of 3 and 5, children are still learning a great deal about how to get along with others—and they’re less experienced in solving the problems that arise when playing with others. Thus, they’ll use aggression to solve problems, rather than more effective ways of conflict resolution

Week 4

The organization that I have been following is zero to three. There is a great deal of information pertaining to children and families.
Information, which is vital, has to deal with the Congress Support of welfare reform to support families who need assistance.

This is vital information so that valuable resources can be in place to best aid families through. Ages zero- three are critical. Those primary developmental years are crucial to sound growth and development. We must strive to place programs in place to help young people make strides. The Temporary Assistance for Needy Families. I am aware of the TANF program because I work with families that receive this assistance or is applying for it.

WEEK 3 BLOG POST

Website Review

Have not heard back at this time – Just told individuals are very busy

Insights from the website

·       Knowledge varies substantially between countries., very little is known. There may be statistics showing the number of families in poverty or percentage of children undernourished. But what poverty means for families - and how the ways they cope affect children may not be understood. In other countries, more is known overall, but information about children in particular groups - such as among disadvantaged minorities or in isolated areas - is lacking.

·       Research focuses on specific aspects of childhood and is rarely well linked together. Internationally, children and childhood have attracted much research. However, this research has tended to focus on particular areas of education, health, psychology, or on particular groups of children such a street children or child workers. Often this knowledge is not brought together.

·       Impacts of key development policies on children are poorly understood or documented. The debate continues as to which policies or sets of policies are most effective in reducing poverty overall. However, even policies that reduce poverty overall

It is important as Educators that we remain connected to the issues an trend which are unfolding in the realm of Child Advocacy and Development- We should stay engaged and connected.

Thus far my experience in establishing contacts continues to be a work in progress. I have been emailing organizations, rather this connection has not emerged yet. I plan on contacting several Universities to establish partnerships and consulitng with co-workers that are within the early childhood field. If I am unsuccessful with this attempt I will use the alternative route to establish professional contacts. I am eager to learn more about children in other countires to learn more about ways to better serve families. Certainly the websites will allow for more information to help connect some of these important concepts together.

                                                                 "My Supports."____________________
Describe factors in your daily environment that are supportive to you, including the ways in which these factors provide support. : I am a person who needs to live in a very clean environment due to my allergies. I have to vacuum all the time.  I have weekly help with cleaners to help keep my allergies at bay. I have the ability to drive and I have the use of my car at any time I need to go somewhere. I have my own checking account and access to monies. I have access to a computer and technology. I am able to dress my self. I have the abilities of my limbs. I have sanity of my mind. I have my own room. My mom lives with me I have someone to talk to and care about me.  I have my animals, which provide me affection. I the ability to get an education and learn.

Describe what you see as the benefits of these supports.  Having a clean home helps keep me healthy. Having a job provides me monies to pay the people to clean. Having the ability to drive helps give me freedom to enjoy things and provide for my self. Having my Mom present helps me emotionally. I love having my animals they are a gift. Having a sound foundation contributes to my health and well being.

How difficult would it be to exist without these supports? Monies give you the power to take action on things- without financial support it would be difficult and weak. Family gives you emotional support. A safe and clean home provides me with stable place to lay my head and call home shelter they are all foundational pieces to help me be strong.

What impact would they have on your life if they were gone? If the following supports were not in my life I would be impacted. I think having a sound family allows for you to go forward strong in life. Being able to have monies helps you across the board in being able to things. If no monies where present then I would be greatly limited. If my family or animals they be an emotional void. Each of the mention above contributes and balances my life and is tailored so I may function at my best.

Share the challenge you chose to imagine and the thoughts you have with regard to supports you would want and need. Again, describe factors within your daily environment would be supportive to you, including the ways in which these factors would provide support. Describe what you see as the potential benefits of these supports. How difficult would it be to exist without these supports? The impact they would have on your life if they weren’t there? A challenge would be no limbs. I would not be able to work. I would not be able to drive. I would not be able to use technology. My animals would provide love. My family would nurture. I would mentally be very challenged.  Having a health insurance to help support me would be vital. I would have to really on public monies and or support systems and not being independent would be a great challenge for me. The ability to exist would be a daily struggle where I would be relied upon many individuals to help support me to simply exist.

Relationships are important for several reasons.
Relationships build connections with others and also emotions.
Relationships  give a sense of comfort and security

I have a great relationship with my mother ,and my co-workers. Extended friends and family

My mom is most important Last year I lost my Dad and though she can overwhelm me I need her more than  she  realizes

My relationship with my family members is positive because I always know where I can go to get the truth. I am comfortable around them and they make me feel happy.
The relationship that I share with my co-workers gives me the courage and the strength to do some of the tougher things on the job.
.
Sound Relationships must have is trust, honestly, and loyalty.

My experiences with relationship contributes a lot in the early childhood field. All parents want to know that they can trust and with their child in the absence.  When there is sound trust in place then all good things can emerge.
